Product design is... the intricate process of crafting meaningful solutions that seamlessly merge innovation, functionality, and aesthetics while conscientiously considering diverse perspectives, cultural nuances, and the ever-evolving needs of users, ensuring inclusive and impactful experiences.

A good product is… one that not only fulfills its intended purpose effectively but also empathetically considers the needs of often overlooked communities, embraces diverse cultural perspectives, and strives to enhance the lives of users while fostering inclusivity and accessibility for all.

  • My goal extends beyond mere work; I aspire to share knowledge. Becoming a professor is my dream, seeking to emulate the qualities of my mentors, fostering empathy with students and guiding them toward their utmost capabilities. Concurrently, I aim to persist in my design research, endeavoring to cultivate a sense of belonging within diasporic communities.

  • My best ideas often strike when I least anticipate them, which is why I make sure to have a sketchbook with me at all times.

  • As a child, among my favorite books was "Oh, the Places You'll Go!" I recall my mom consistently gifting copies to high school graduates, instilling excitement for the future in those likely feeling both anxious and a bit frightened about the significant transition into college.

  • I find the subway to be my preferred reading spot as it offers a welcome escape from staring at my phone.

  • I'd choose to wake up as Matilda from Roald Dahl's book. Her intelligence, resilience, and unwavering kindness in the face of adversity are truly inspiring. Having her extraordinary intelligence and ability to stand up against unfairness would not only empower me but also allow me to make positive changes in the world. Matilda's story emphasizes the importance of using one's abilities for good and standing up for what's right, which resonates deeply with me. Plus, being able to move objects with my mind would be an incredible skill to have!

My best ideas often strike when I least anticipate them.”
